This the tutorial that i finished on for the day we where to make a clipping mask made up of three letters and a pattern.
This is the tutorial i am working on it is hard and requires us to use several tools it's from the back half of chapter 7.
I am currently working on the Ch. 7 tutorials and i just finished the compound images one where you must form a compound image from a life preserver. I have done CH.7 but not CH.6 or CH.5 because last semester we where told to due CH. 7 for our Contour Projects.
Before our second semester class was primarily made up of doing tutorials and working on projects. We worked on three projects before 2nd Semester the Pixel Portraits which introduced us to colors and swatches, Silhouette-Contour Project which introduced us to the pen tool, and the Zentangle Project which introduced us on how to make patterns and our own swatches. A project that is intriguing to me is our current one, the geometric symmetrical because it seems so open ended and free.
Today we did so much, we learned so much, for example we learned how to upload images to a resume I'm glad was not a waste of time.
What I liked most of my t-shirt was the use of WASC's logo and the fact that I made it myself. What I would've done differently is use some self drawn images and not relied as heavily on the pen tool. What I learned about quick deadlines is you've got to sacrifice some gaudy ideas and go forward with whats fast. What I like about working in Adobe Illustrator is how the program is not overly complex and user friendly. Cabotage: A large piece of cargo Awping: The act of us rolling around the classroom instead of walking and getting up
This is my submission for the WASC T-Shirt Design competition. Above are the three differently colored t-shirt with altered logo colors to better blend and match with the color bases. Along with inspiration photos and my hand-drawn Thumbnail sketch.
